Declaration Project

When in the Course of American events, it becomes necessary for one people to repudiate the partisan lines which have divided them, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the remediation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created to be moral, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain undeniable knowledge, that among these are Truth, Love and the knowledge of Good and Evil.–That to retain this knowledge, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from their Creator, and being responsible for their actions as created beings –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the duty of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a changed Government, exposing its foundation which had been laid on such principles and organized its powers in such form, as to them that seemed most likely to effect the Safety and Happiness of the people. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments having been established on such principles should not be corrupted by greed, nor perverted for dark and despicable causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to ignore, while evils are blissfully ignorable, than to right themselves by abolishing the cancer to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to renew their Guards for their future security.–Such has been the patient sufferance of these fifty States; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to repudiate their current System of Government. The history of the present Princes of the United States is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

They have refused their Assent to Laws by ignoring the voice of the people, and accepting bribes from industry leaders.
They have forbidden their Governors from passing Laws of immediate and pressing importance, undermining the will of the people for the alleged interests of the Union, which acts of its own accord in utter secrecy.
They have refused to pass other Laws which would guarantee the safety of the public at large, instead passing laws making the people dependent on the Union for their well-being.
They have abetted the Media in race-baiting, gun-shaming, and all manner of bread and circus, to distract the American people from their unlawful bargains with Corporations and natural Enemies of democracy.
They have laughed and scorned concerned citizens repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness their invasions on the people’s privacy and ability to defend themselves and their homes.
They have prevented for a long time, after such dissolutions, to allow others to be elected; leveraging their wealth and power over the media to exclude other qualified candidates, and not only exclude, but belittle and besmirch these candidates for no reason other than to advance their own private interests.
They have endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and funding organizations which deliberately establish institutions for the destruction of the lives of future Americans, particularly those of the minorities.
They have fabricated a System of Justice which is hardly systematic, and entirely unjust, allowing murderers and rapists to live, while lauding the destruction of those who have not yet had the opportunity to choose action, whether right or wrong.
They have delegated their right to the interpretation of our Constitution to Judges which they confirm, causing unnecessary consternation among the people who have elected them.
They have erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
They have failed to keep among us a capable military body for the defence of our nation by cutting its funding and neglecting training to produce competent warriors.
They have affected to render themselves, the President, and their fat-wallet cronies independent of and superior to the Civil power.
They have combined with foreigners to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws.
For failing to arm our troops to defend their lives from terrorists on our soil.
For protecting terrorists from the charges of terrorism by refusing in the majority of cases to call it thus.
For reinstating trade with our natural Enemies for their own personal gain.
For imposing unlawful Taxes on us when we have refused to accept unlawful government programs.
For depriving us in many cases, of True Justice, by allowing dangerous criminals to remain among us.
For failing to transport us from beyond Seas, rather leaving us in the hands of Tyrants and Murderers.
For breaking faith with our allies and lying with our enemies.
For altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments.
For ignoring the people and scorning our wishes.
They have abdicated the religious rights of many who speak softly to appease the wishes of a few who carry a big stick.
They have plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people with their reckless abandonment of the Stewardship of Nature, preferring to pursue financial gain through oil, dams, and nuclear plants.

We therefore, the People of the United States of America, hereby abolish partisanship, parties, and lobbyists, to restore our Republic to that on which it shakily stands now, in hopes that it may regain its former strength.  We demand redress, and we demand Truth.
