Art is a reflection of our humanity; it is how we share our common interests and express our differences with civility.
I declare that it is our civic duty to support the arts.
It begins with the simple notion that art is integral, inherent in our DNA and part of the fabric of society itself. It is the way that humans connect and reflect. Every society reveres art and each of us partakes in the beauty of visual art, poetry, music, theater, dance, or literature in some form.
It is how we express ourselves – ART transcends politics, religion, and political boundaries.
Art defines culture and is the mark of civil society and the means by which we as a people are defined in history and transcend time.
Art is architecture, science, and the impetus for design. Art inspires, challenges and pushes us to create, destroy, and recreate.
Art is how we understand ourselves and attempt to understand one another.
